Skull chain mail bracelet
Usually, my designs are more colorful. But my vision for this bracelet was all sterling with a byzantine or Etruscan weave. Something simple where the focus will be on the skull clasp.
I think skulls are intriguing.
In fact, have you noticed that skulls are becoming an important part of fashion? Skulls symbolize many things for many people. To some, they represent danger and death... the skull and crossbones of a pirate ship’s flag... the warning on a bottle of poison...
Another category of people will wear skulls ornaments as a way to show their rebellious spirit. And in many cultures, the skull is a symbol associated with spirituality and afterlife.
Whatever is your calling for skulls, I think that you will enjoy wearing this bracelet. All by itself or stacked. It sure will bring you attention and questions.
Dias de Los Muertos
I chose to name the bracelet like the “Dias de Los Muertos” ceremonies in Mexico when skulls made of sugar are placed as offerings on the graves of deceased relatives.
Last year, I visited Sedona for this celebration and captured a few shots that I’d like to share with you.
The colors are so joyful. I like that death is not personified as a sad and final event. It is just the end of our physical body when our spirit is set free to keep on going his journey toward eternal life.
I like remembering my friends and family that passed on the other side by celebrating their life instead of crying their absence. We’ll meet again!
See the Dias de Los Muertos Bracelet in the store. It is not really a one-of-a-kind as I have a few of the skull clasps in my stash but quantities are limited.
